Carlos Tevez has played all around the world, but he has retired due to the death of his adopted father, whom he referred to as his “number one fan,” as a result of Covid.

The Argentine last played for Boca Juniors in his own country, but he departed the club in June of last year. Prior to that, he had a highly successful career in Europe, where he played for some of the most prestigious teams, followed by a brief stay in China.

Carlos Tevez has declared his permanent retirement from sport, after losing his "number one fan,"

Tevez has retired from football following the death of his adopted father, Segundo Raimundo, from Covid in February of last year. Raimundo became the player’s adoptive father when his biological father died before he was born. After being told he was battling for his life, he realized he didn’t have long to live before succumbing to the sickness.

It has made an impression on Tevez, who has now chosen to retire from football. In a statement, he announced his resignation, saying, “I have retired, it is verified.” They offered me a variety of items, some of which came from the United States. But that’s it; I’ve exhausted my options. Last year, it was challenging to play, but I was able to see my grandfather. I stopped playing after losing my number one fan.

When he realized his adopted father was in trouble, he said: “My grandfather, unfortunately, has no chance. My entire family is going through a terrible period. In my career, I believe I have won 29 trophies. This is quite challenging for me. It’s a challenging circumstance for everyone to be a parent and explain to my girls about their grandfather.”

Carlos Tevez was a hot item when he first started establishing a name for himself in Argentina, but a swoop from West Ham United over a decade ago stunned the football world. Before joining Manchester United, the forward’s class paid off, as he helped maintain the Hammers in the Premier League.

He helped the Red Devils win multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League by playing with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. When Manchester City started pouring the cash, he made a contentious transfer to them. In 2012, he assisted those on the blue half of the pitch in winning their first Premier League title.

He then moved to Juventus, where he won further trophies, before returning to Boca in 2015. Tevez has already addressed his weight problems, admitting that he overindulged after leaving Boca.

He stated, ” “I eat empanadas and drink whatever fernet and wine I want.  I make an effort to maintain my weight, yet I’ve gained three or four pounds. When it comes to getting up, I’m a lazy. I don’t think I’ll be able to resume running and training. I used to get up at 6 a.m. every day, to go to training. I’d be the first one there and the last one to go. But just now, I don’t have the strength to do so.”
