Erik ten Hag will make it a mission to keep Cristiano Ronaldo happy at Old Trafford since he was Manchester United’s savior last season.
After it emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo’s agency allegedly had contact with other clubs, the Portuguese star is once more at the center of Manchester United’s discussions.
According to The Athletic, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has contacted with Chelsea and Bayern Munich about a prospective transfer for his client. It’s thought that United has retaliated and requested that the 37-year-old stay at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo, though, is said to want to see his team be more ambitious this summer as soon as possible, so Mendes most likely wouldn’t have been arranging such talks without the striker’s knowledge.
Getting the five-time Ballon d’Or winner his own “Karim Benzema” at the Theatre of Dreams would be the best thing Erik ten Hag could do for him.
Ronaldo broke a number of records while playing for Real Madrid as a result of their incredible connection, which helped him establish himself as one of the all-time greats.
In the nine years that they led the line together at the Santiago Bernabeu, Benzema has emphasized how selfless he was.
Antonio Cassano, a former Italy international, told Bobo TV that Benzema deserves a lot of credit for what Ronaldo has accomplished. “In football, there are not only titles and goals,” he stated, “Zidane scored few goals, but he is one of the finest in history, and Riquelme too.” Goals and titles are useful, but they are not the essentials.
During his morning prayers, Cristiano Ronaldo must thank Karim Benzema for playing beside him.
In addition to his over 50 goals this year and the year before, Benzema has over 30 goals in assists in each of those two years.
Ronaldo scores and will continue to score, but he is a different player than Benzema, who is a center-forward who can score goals. However, he is also Zidane; he is a 9, a 10, and a nine and a half.
Ronaldo has been without a forward to collaborate with and establish a genuine relationship with since coming to United. More than any other player at Madrid,
Benzema gave Ronaldo assists on 47 times. Having that “nine and a half” to lead the line with really unleashed Ronaldo’s finest form.
The fact that Ronaldo is Erik Ten’s sole option going into the next season after Edinson Cavani left means that the Red Devils are truly on the market for a striker.
Marcus Rashford is another choice because he graduated from the United academy as a forward, but he doesn’t seem to possess the same fundamental traits as Benzema.
Finding Ronaldo a striking partner is a need, not a choice, if United wants him to feel at home at the club and assist them return to where they believe they belong.
Since missing out on Darwin Nunez earlier this summer, who chose to join Liverpool from Benfica, the club is rumored to be interested in signing Ajax winger Antony. However, they have yet to be specifically connected with an all-and-out no.9 player.
