Gareth Bale will join Los Angeles FC after deciding to leave Real Madrid, but his transfer to California will require him to accept a significant wage reduction.

Gareth Bale decided to go to Los Angeles FC and would accept a £27 million pay reduction to do so.
This summer, the Welshman, who had previously been the most expensive player in the world, departed Real Madrid for nothing, putting an end to his difficult tenure there.

As his connection with the Los Blancos supporters began to worsen, Bale was frequently left on the bench.

Despite this, Bale made a ton of money in Madrid and was the team’s best earner for a while. He received a salary of £28.8 million last year. He will now make a maximum of £1.3 million throughout his 12-month contract under Hollywood’s glittering lights.

The Welshman’s monthly income, which will be slightly over £100,000, will significantly decrease as a result. Additionally, according to The Athletic, his contract contains an 18-month option that, if exercised next summer, would raise his pay and classify him as a designated player.

With Wales’ campaign for the World Cup just months away, Bale was searching for a new club to join. After a long wait to participate in the competition, the nation defeated Ukraine in a play-off and was placed in a group with England in Qatar.

In the World Cup, Gareth Bale will lead his nation.

The attacker, who will turn 33 in July, had several options on the table, one of which was a transfer to Cardiff City, his hometown club. It would have been a major choice to drop down to England’s second tier, but he ultimately decided to come to the MLS.

The owners of DC United attempted to negotiate with Bale’s agents but were unsuccessful. Jonathan Barnett, the player’s agent, was sure that such recommendations would never be taken into account.

He said that they had made him “four or five serious proposals.” It might have been more, but we made it more manageable for him by excluding places like Italy and Spain.

He is one of the highest-paid football players ever, so Barnett said, “He doesn’t need to play football, but if everything goes well, of course, he may stay there for a while.

why not He’ll lead a wonderful life there and yet take pleasure in playing. Let’s wait and see how everything plays out, and there will be two sides to the choice.

John Thorrington, co-president, and general manager of Los Angeles FC, commented on the change:

“There is great momentum with where this league is headed with the World Cup coming here, not only on the pitch — and that’s the focus (in 2026). He recognized this as a chance to truly change things.
